Streem BU Containers: A New Organization to Strengthen Operational Excellence

In a context of continuous growth and increasing efficiency requirements, Streem BU Containers is taking a new strategic step by implementing a stronger and more structured organization. As of April 1st, 2026, a new operational leadership structure will officially come into effect in order to better address repair turn around time, standardization of processes, cost optimization, and global container fleet management.

This evolution reflects a clear objective: to consolidate all operational functions under a single leadership, in order to gain consistency, agility, and performance.

A More Centralized and Efficient BU Containers Organization

To support Streem’s ambitions and improve international coordination of container-related activities, a new organization is being implemented within the BU Containers.

This transformation is based on a simple principle: bringing together key operational functions under a central leadership capable of managing technical topics, purchasing, maintenance, and fleet management in an integrated way.

Markus KAIFEL has been appointing Global Operations Director – BU Containers

As part of this reorganization, Markus KAIFEL, currently Head of Raffles Lease, is appointed Global Operations Director – BU Containers as of April 1st, 2026, reporting to Jan ROEBKEN. His replacement as Head of Raffles Lease will be announced shortly.

A Clear Mission: Managing Container Operations on a Global Scale

As Global Operations Director, Markus KAIFEL’s main mission will be to coordinate and supervise all container-related operational functions worldwide.

His role will be structured around three major pillars:

1. Global M&R – BU Containers (Maintenance & Repair) : Marc WEIDEMANN

The Global Maintenance & Repair have a key priority: improving operational efficiency while strengthening the standardization of container maintenance and repair processes.

This approach will make it possible to:

* ensure consistent quality across all operations,
* optimize maintenance costs,
* improve fleet availability, reliability and turn around time.

2. P&T – BU Containers (Purchasing & Technical) : Paul CHAPEL

The Purchasing and Technical (P&T) department covers all topics related to purchasing and technical aspects, particularly regarding specifications and acquisition of new containers.

This pillar will play a key role in:

* improving technical standards,
* supporting product innovation,
* strengthening the competitiveness of BU Containers.

3. Fleet Management – BU Containers : Mark HAZIZOWIC

The Fleet Management will ensure full lifecycle management of the container fleet, from tank delivery to tank end of life : resale or scrapping.

This strategic role will enable:

* maximizing asset value,
* better anticipating operational needs,
* optimizing fleet rotation and profitability,
* building a long-term vision for equipment management,
* securing and optimizing the end-of-life container process.

A Transformation to Better Support Streem’s Objectives

This new organization is designed to deliver concrete and measurable benefits. By consolidating operational functions under one central leadership, Streem BU Containers strengthens its ability to:

* standardize processes globally,
* improve coordination between teams,
* optimize costs related to operations and maintenance,
* strengthen strategic container management,
* increase overall fleet performance.

This clearer structure will also enable stronger synergy between technical teams, purchasing, maintenance, and asset management.

A More Agile and Future-Oriented BU Containers

By consolidating all operational activities under unified governance, Streem BU Containers is adopting a more robust and scalable organizational model.

This new dynamic aims to address the key challenges of the industry:

* cost control,
* sustainability and extending equipment lifespan,
* increasing technical requirements,
* large-scale asset management optimization.

Conclusion: A New Strategic Step Starting April 2026

With the implementation of this organization on April 1st, 2026, Streem BU Containers confirms its commitment to strengthening operational efficiency and building a global and standardized approach.

The appointment of Markus KAIFEL as Director of Global Operations – Container Division, along with the key responsibilities entrusted to him in collaboration with teams in the areas of global maintenance and repair, procurement, and technical matters, as well as container fleet management, marks an important step in consolidating operations and preparing for future challenges.
